Meeting rooms at LaunchPad are provided for the use by businesses in the LaunchPad Community (those with an active Collaborator Agreement) and external guests who’ve booked using our online booking system (Nexudus).

For a complete list of the available rooms click here.

Getting to LaunchPad

LaunchPad is located in Cremorne, a sub locality of Richmond Melbourne.  Cremorne is well serviced by public transport (Tram, Tram and Bus) and is close to the Monash Freeway.

Parking is limited with public car parks located Balmain Street, Gough Street and behind the Precinct Hotel.

Accessing Rooms

You can access our meeting rooms at any time between 8:30 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday except on public holidays.  Out of hour access is available by prior arrangement and you’ll need to contact the GroundCrew for details.

Each bookable meeting space has a Booking Tablet’ mounted just outside of the door and shows the current and future meetings for the day.  The current meeting is highlighted with the name of the person who booked.

If you arrive early and the room is free, then you can access the room 5 minutes prior to the booking.  If the room is occupied after your start date, then we encourage you to respectfully request they leave.  Remember, as a member of the LaunchPad community we look after each other.

What to expect in the room

The facilities in each room vary and you can check out what each room has on our booking site.  Most rooms have one or more tables and sufficient chairs for the maximum size of the room.  If the room is listed as an ‘8-person’ meeting space, then there will be chairs and table space for eight.

The groundcrew works hard to make the spaces professional and useful.  Each space has a personality – some are great customer presentation spaces, some of the workspaces, others more formal.  In each case, we endeavour to make the space purposeful, but we welcome feedback.  Click here to leave us a message.

Each room is checked, cleaned and set up at the start of each day. If a room is booked and busy at the time our team is setting rooms, then we won’t disrupt the meeting.  For rooms with whiteboards, we provide basic whiteboard markers, erasers and cleaning wipes/fluid.

Room Layout and Setup

Most rooms have a default setup which the room is set to at the start of each business day.  Our team will clean the room, check for supplies and reset the room each morning before 9 am.

If the room has a booking early in the morning, then our team may not have had access for a reset.  In this case, we apologise for any inconvenience.

For large event spaces you may need a setup prior to your booking:

Daintree Auditorium

The default configuration for the Daintree is a U-Shaped arrangement of our tables, with 18 chairs arranged facing the Video Wall.  For other setups, you’ll need to contact the GroundCrew for assistance and this may attract a setup fee.

In addition, we can set up the room as a training space with rows of tables, a seminar space with up to 60 chairs or completely cleared for photoshoots.  If you have a particular requirement, contact the GroundCrew .

Tramstage

By default, the tram stage is clear of all chairs and tables.  The space is available only after business hours or on teh weekends.  Our team will set up for an event prior to 5 pm.  LaunchPad has 100 foldable chairs included in the hire fee, but set up is required.

Connecting to Displays/Projectors

All of our meeting rooms (except the Ideation space) have with Smart TVs or Data Projectors, each with an Airplay and HDMI connections.

If your laptop doesn’t provide a full-sized HDMI connector, then you’ll need to provide your own converter.  Check out this diagram on Wikipedia for HDMI types.

For AirPlay, you’ll need to connect to our LaunchPad network so that the list of AppleTV boxes will appear.  Check out this support page from Apple on how to use AirPlay.  Our AppleTV boxes have sensible names, you’ll just need to know the name of the room you’re in.

If you can’t see any AppleTV devices in the dropdown list, then make sure that you’re connected to the LaunchPad network (see below).

We no longer support VGA connections to our projectors.

Daintree Auditorium

The Daintree Auditorium is equipped with a Video Wall and Data Projector.  The video wall is four large screens arranged in a rectangle, separated by a thin bezel.  The bright colours on this system are brilliant for presenting images, websites and videos, but if you’re sharing your desktop, then you’re better off using the Data projector.

The video wall supports AirPlay and HDMI (connection behind the lectern).

Tram Stage

There are two large-format data projectors mounted in the ceiling of LaunchPad Evolve.  One aimed at the wall above the kitchen and the other toward a ceiling-mounted drop-down screen.  The only connection to these devices is via AirPlay.  If you are using a Windows laptop, then you’ll need to use software like AirParriot.

Catering Options

LaunchPad does not provide catering, but we do recommend a number of suppliers in the area.  Contact GroundCrew for more information.

The Tramstage has three large preparation tables perfect for buffets and a bar.  The Groundcrew is more than happy to provide advice on the best set up for your event.

The kitchens adjacent to the Tram Stage and Daintree spaces have microwave and convection ovens for your use.  You will, however, need to provide your own preparation and serving supplies.

Alcohol and Liquor License

LaunchPad is not a licenced venue.   If you would like to serve alcohol during your event, you’ll need to obtain your own liquor license from here.  LaunchPad strongly encourages responsible service of alcohol.

Guest Wifi

LaunchPad provides unlimited wifi access for guests and the community on a network called ‘launchpad’.  You will have received the wifi password in your booking confirmation and there are QR codes containing the connection details in each room found near the light switch.

For iPhones with iOS 11 or older, just focus your camera on the QR code and it should pop up with a connection confirmation.  For other phones, you may need to use a QR scanner installed first.  Under the QR code, you’ll find the SSID for our network and the password.
