Quick Check

A couple of things to check first:

Is your laptop connected to the LaunchPad network?

Some members have Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in place or you may have tethered your laptop to your phone.  In this case, the laptop may not see the printer on the network.

Make sure your laptop is connected to LaunchPad’s network and if you have VPN running, disconnect.

Has a job jammed up the printer queue?

The printers are designed to print jobs in the order they are queued, so if a job fails (perhaps the printer is out of paper), then all print jobs will stop.

Visit the printer and check the screen for any errors.  You may need to cancel a print job to free up the queue.  Contact the Groundcrew if you need help.

Did I select the right Preset (for Macs only)?

Macs allow you to select printing options based on pre-defined configurations called Presets.  When you installed and configured the printer, the instructions guide you through setting up a LaunchPad-Colour and LaunchPad-B&W Preset with your companies printer PIN.  This PIN is required when the printer checks if you’re authorised to print.

For Mac OSx you’ll need to make sure the correct LaunchPad preset is selected.  LaunchPad will have created two presets containing the printer PIN needed to authorise a job.
Adobe products don’t behave well on Macs and you may need to force the use of a LaunchPad Preset by going to the System Print Dialogue – click on ‘Printer…’ at the bottom of the Adobe Print Dialogue.

Deep Diagnosis

If the steps above don’t work, then try these ideas:

Has Elvis Left the Building?

The first thing to check, has the print job left your laptop?

For Windows

Click on the ‘printer’ icon in the task tray and check if the print job has been sent from your laptop.  If the job is pending, then restart your laptop and check again.

If the print job still doesn’t budge, then delete the printer and reinstall the driver following the setup instructions in the LaunchPad Knowlege Base.

For Mac (OSx)

Check the Dock (the row of Apps at the bottom of the screen) for an Icon of the printer.  If this appears and then goes away, the job has left your Mac, but if the Icon remains, then you can open it to see what is happening with your job.

Try restarting your Mac and see if this restarts the print job.
